Editorial Standards
Pet Math Pro follows three editorial pillars: open-source math, primary-source citations, and named-author accountability.
1. Open-source math
Every formula is published under the MIT license on GitHub. The “Show the math” accordion links directly to the source TypeScript file and its Vitest test suite.
2. Primary-source citations
Every rate, threshold, and regulatory assumption is cited to a primary source — a government publication, statute, regulation, or authoritative data provider.
3. Named-author accountability
Byron Malone is the named editor and author for all content. Every calculator page carries a byline, a last-reviewed date, and a methodology link.
4. AI transparency
This site uses AI tools as part of the calculator-build workflow. All AI-generated content passes through a human review gate before publication.
5. Update and correction policy
Calculators are reviewed when regulatory inputs change and no less often than once per year. See our corrections page.
